Insights to Combat Long COVID
Insights to Combat Long COVID
Join ClearPath for the next Clear60 event, as we provide insight to address issues stemming from long COVID in the workplace, as well as tips on how to best support employees.
The COVID-19 pandemic has had an immense impact on all aspects of society, and workplaces will continue to be affected by workers with long-term conditions caused by COVID-19 infection. Initially called “long COVID,” these issues have been formalized under the diagnosis of Post-Acute Sequelae of COVID-19 or PASC.
People with PASC exhibit a wide variety of symptoms that are often subjective, which presents difficulties for employers, including questions about:
- Validity of the complaints
- Identifying reasonable accommodations to assist workers with essential job duties
- Identifying potential risks related to ADA/ADAAA issues
During this session, you will learn how to address these issues and support your employees:
- Learn common symptoms associated with “long COVID” and how those may lead to limitations, restrictions, and disability.
- Gain a basic understanding of current theories related to the causes of PASC.
- Identify workplace impacts of PASC, including those associated with ADA/ADAAA compliance.
- Discover how lessons learned from managing other chronic conditions can help employers and insurers support workers struggling with limitations and restrictions related to PASC.
