Test For Truth

Some employers aren’t relying on employees’ word that they are remaining tobacco-free, new research shows. According to a recent Towers Watson poll, about 10 percent of companies now are using medical nicotine testing to ensure that their employees are truthful when they identify themselves as nonusers of tobacco. The survey found that employers continue to place an emphasis on pressing for a tobacco-free workforce, with almost three-quarters of respondents saying they plan to either reward or penalize employees based on their tobacco use in 2014.
