Bill has two grown sons and is a proud new grandfather of William Thomas “Tommy” Shimp. He is also the legal guardian and resides with a niece and two nephews ages 19,17 and 13. If any spare time is available he can be found following the Columbus Blue Jackets, the Cleveland Browns and the Cincinnati Reds or Cleveland Indians. His less recognized hobby and passion is being a rapid fan of Formula One racing and hopes to one day achieve one of his bucket list items of meeting Sebastian Vettel.
Bill has been serving clients in the insurance profession for 39 years and has been serving as a partner and principal of employee benefit consulting agencies for over 30 years. He currently is a partner in ClearPath Benefit Advisors which was formed in 2013 with a merger of the employee benefit department of his previous firm and the BP Waterhouse agency.
Bill has served his profession as past President of the Ohio Association of Health Underwriters; past
President of the Columbus Chapter of the American Society of CLU/ChFC; instructor of the American
College employee benefit courses; industry speaker and serving on numerous industry advisory boards. He was recognized as the Ohio agent of the year for the Professional Insurance Agents and is member of the Columbus chapter of the American Society of CLU/ChFC’s hall-of-fame.
He is currently serving on the Board of Directors of Mt. Aloysius, an intermediate care facility for mentally retarded individuals and is a volunteer for the Columbus Cancer Clinic/LifeCare Alliance.
