Get Covered

The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) includes a mandate for most individuals to have health insurance or potentially pay a penalty for noncompliance.

For 2014, the penalty is the greater of $95 per uninsured person or 1 percent of household income. Some individuals will be exempt from the mandate, while others may be given financial assistance to help them pay for the cost of health insurance.

If you cannot afford coverage, you might be eligible for financial assistance. See if you qualify for financial assistance. If you do qualify for financial assistance, you should apply for health coverage through the Connect for Health website.
